Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has returned to action in supreme form - bettering Chelsea playmaker Oscar in five key areas.
The German international missed a large part of the season through injury, but has made an immediate impact upon his return.
The Gunners' record signing edges Oscar in terms of goals per game, assists per game, and in terms of chances created per game he is ahead substantially.
As well as retaining a better passing accuracy, Ozil's shooting accuracy is twice as strong scoring with roughly one out of every five shots as opposed to Oscar's one every 10.

None of this is to slight Oscar who has been a key part of Jose Mourinho's side this season as they move towards winning the Premier League title. What it does show is the high level which Ozil has returned at, that he outranks a player as consistent as the Brazilian.
Oscar has played more than twice as many games in these competitions as the former Real Madrid playmaker, and the challenge for Ozil is to maintain his extremely high level of performance. A slight dip could see his statistics slip below the Chelsea star as the season progresses.
There is plenty of work for Ozil to do to change opinions of his inconsistent spell in England so far, but should he stay injury free and keep up this level of performance, he may just win around his doubters between now and the end of the campaign.
