Kyle Naughton says two former Tottenham teammates helped him settle at Swansea

Kyle Naughton has been talking after he swapped Tottenham Hotspur for Swansea City.

Swansea City defender Kyle Naughton has been speaking to the club’s official website about how it felt moving to the club following his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £5million.

The right-back made 75 appearances for Tottenham, but the presence of Kyle Walker and DeAndre Yedlin meant the time was right for him to move on.

He has played three times for the Swans so far, and he has now revealed the factors that helped him settle at the Liberty Stadium.

“As soon as I walked in that morning, I could see for myself that the club had a real family-feel to it,” Naughton said.

He then went on to explain that the presence of two of his former Tottenham teammates was a good thing in those early days.

“I think it helped that I knew the likes of Nathan (Dyer), Tom Carroll and Siggy (Gylfi Sigurdsson), who I have all played with before. I’ve settled in now.”

Sigurdsson left Tottenham to return to Swansea last summer, while Carroll is currently on loan at the Liberty Stadium.

Naughton’s job is now to show how good he can be when given regular game-time and a place to call his home for the many campaigns to come.
