Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has told Sky Sports that Jack Grealish will receive more chances at Aston Villa now that they have appointed Tim Sherwood.
Grealish was expected to be a regular in the Claret and Blues' first-team this campaign, but Paul Lambert was reluctant to give him a chance.
Grealish made just 12 appearances under Lambert's stewardship, but Le Tissier is expecting to see him in action more often now Sherwood has been placed in charge.
"The young lad Jack Grealish may benefit, who is a very talented young player and he's the kind of player who might get more of a chance under Tim," he said.
If Le Tissier's opinion does prove to be true it is likely to be a feature of Sherwood's management which will go down well with the Villa supporters.
Fans of the Midlands club are excited about Grealish's development as he looks one of the most talented players they have produced in a number of years and to see him in the first-team more often is likely to be a major positive.
The 19-year-old winger is a natural talent, who enjoys carrying the ball forward and he would offer a new type of attacking threat if selected.
That would be a big benefit to a side who have struggled hugely for goals this season and Grealish, who will be looking to prove a point to his old manager, should be included in Sherwood's starting line-up.
