Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback has told the Chronicle that he wants to add more goals to his game.
The flame-haired star has had an impressive debut campaign at St. James' Park, but he still doesn't feel he is the complete package and he has expressed a desire to get forward more successfully in the future.
Colback has netted three times in all competitions this season, but he wants to see his name on the scoresheet with more frequency.
“I am on three goals now. It is always something I have wanted to improve on – my ratio of goals," he said.
“I have managed three so far but still want to score a few more.”
Over the course of his career Colback has managed 13 goals in 217 appearances and it is an obvious area where he can improve in the future.
Despite his failure to hit the back of the net as often as many would hope, Colback has still become a key player at St. James' Park.
The central midfielder has dealt admirably with the pressure of making the switch from Sunderland to Newcastle and he is in with a chance of claiming the Player of the Season award for his new side.
If he can complete his personal challenge of scoring a few more times between now and the end of the season his chances of scooping that particular award will be improved, and that should provide him with a further incentive to show more of the attacking qualities in his game.
