Four goals, three wins; Why Adam Lallana is a key player for Liverpool

The England international has scored in four Premier League games this season – with the Reds picking up maximum points.

Adam Lallana’s influence over proceedings at Liverpool is starting to be recognised, with the playmaker beginning to contribute after overcoming injury concerns.

The former Southampton man scored the winner for the Reds in the weekend’s 2-1 FA Cup victory at Crystal Palace and it appears that his eye for goal will be an important feature in the Merseysiders’ chances of a top-four finish in 2014-15.

Lallana has hit four goals in the Premier League this season, with Brendan Rodgers’ men picking up maximum points when the 26-year-old has been on target.

The attacking midfielder netted a brace against Swansea in a 4-1 victory and also scored in wins against Leicester and West Brom earlier in the campaign.

With Liverpool no longer able to rely on the goalscoring exploits of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge recently returning from injury, goals from midfield will be key this season.

It appears that Lallana has a significant role to play in this regard, as he pushes to establish himself as a nailed-on starter in Rodgers’ side.
