Tottenham Hotspur fans may not often sit down to watch Arsenal matches, but they had incentive to do so on Sunday as one of their own turned out against the Gunners.
Ryan Fredericks is currently on loan at Middlesbrough, and the 22-year-old started the Championship side’s FA Cup fifth round tie at the Emirates Stadium.
Fredericks can operate on the right wing or as a right-back and it is the latter position that he has made his own this season.
Against Arsenal, the Tottenham youngster put in a solid performance and while he was unable to prevent Middlesbrough from losing 2-0, he can hold his head high after a fine individual effort.
With DeAndre Yedlin and Kyle Walker already at White Hart Lane and set to battle it out for the right-back position next season and beyond, it remains to be seen how many chances Fredericks will get at Tottenham.
But his versatility may stand him in good stead and after the match we took to Twitter to see what fans of both Middlesbrough and Tottenham had to say about Fredericks’ latest performance.
