The £11.2million signing from Villarreal made his debut for Arsenal in Sunday’s FA Cup fifth round tie against Middlesbrough, and having helped his side to a clean-sheet and a victory, he will be eying more chances to impress in the near future.
Gabriel played alongside Laurent Koscielny with Per Mertesacker benched for the encounter, and despite getting booked in the second half he is likely to be happy with his first outing at the Emirates Stadium.
Flamini was certainly impressed, saying, “He played very well and he found his place in the team.
“He’s not talking English at all so we’re just trying to adapt with him. He played very well so sometimes you don’t need to speak English to find your place in the Arsenal team.”
That said, Wenger will surely want his latest addition to learn the language as soon as possible as he looks to bed into a side that is looking very exciting for the seasons ahead.
Arsenal have now built a fantastic side and, after an Olivier Giroud brace put Middlesbrough to the sword on Sunday, the club will look forward to the quarter-finals of a competition they have a great chance of defending.
