The 23-year-old Tottenham Hotspur play-maker is enjoying a wonderful season at White Hart Lane, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists to date. And now Laursen has been looking back on Eriksen’s early years in the Danish team and reflecting on his current form.
“We saw, from when he got his first game with the Danish national team at only 18, that he was special,” Laursen said.
“We can see that he is a great player and now he is playing the best football of his career. He’s got a really good future ahead of him.”
Eriksen’s outstanding form means it is easy to forget that he has just turned 23, and given his tender age there is no reason why he cannot go on to become one of the best players to ever grace not just Tottenham’s first-team but the entire Premier League.
That will of course take time, but he is blossoming into a wonderful talent and if he can perform consistently in the seasons ahead, anything is possible both at club and international level.
Luckily for Tottenham, Eriksen has a contract in North London until the summer of 2018, by which time he could be reaching his peak.
