Tottenham Hotspur reportedly sent scouts to watch Porto face Vitoria Guimaraes on Friday - who could they have an interest in?
According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to watch Porto's game against Vitoria Guimaraes on Friday.
We may not be in a transfer window right now, but that doesn't mean the scouting stops for clubs across the world, given that the summer transfer window is approaching.
With Spurs taking a close look at Porto, here are three players who could be potential targets for Mauricio Pochettino's men.
Mexican international Herrera, 24, has established himself as a key cog in the Porto midfield since his 2013 move from Pachuca. With 23 international caps, Herrera has plenty of experience despite being just 24, and has impressed with his energy and never-say-die attitude in midfield. A tireless runner and true box-to-box player, Herrera could be targeted if Etienne Capoue or Paulinho leave in the summer.
Former Granada playmaker Brahimi was linked with a move to White Hart Lane last summer, having starred for Algeria at the World Cup in Brazil. However, he made the move to Porto instead, and has been nothing but sensational ever since. With nine goals and two assists in all competitions for Porto this season, the 25-year-old is a growing force in world football, and should be under consideration if Pochettino looks for another attacking midfielder - especially having the scored the only goal in Porto's 1-0 win over Guimaraes.
With Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado still struggling for goals even under a new manager, signing another striker should be a priority in the summer - even with Harry Kane's emergence as a consistent goalscorer. Martinez, 28, has hit 85 goals in 120 games for the Portuguese giants, as well as scoring ten goals in 35 games for Colombia. An athletic striker, Martinez has all the making or a Premier League striker.
