The Real Madrid attacker failed to score against Deportivo La Coruna yesterday, making it three games without a goal.
However, the year has not started well for the Portuguese star, who despite being handed the Ballon d’Or last month has not been in his best form of late.
The ex-Manchester United attacker did not get on the scoresheet in Madrid’s unconvincing 2-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna yesterday, making it three games in a row without a goal for the Portugal international.
Interestingly, Ronaldo has not failed to score in three consecutive games for over a year, with the last time this happened back in January and February 2014.
That ‘drought’ came in fixtures against Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid, with Ronaldo being sent off against the Basque side last February also.
Despite not scoring for a few games, Ronaldo still leads the La Liga goalscoring chart with 28 goals in 20 appearances this season.
Messi is closing in on the Portuguese attacker however, and has netted 23 times this season to date.
Ronaldo’s next chance to break his recent run of goalless performances will come in midweek as Madrid face Schalke in Germany in the Champions League.
