The Belgian goalkeeper was full of praise following the FA Cup win over Crystal Palace.
The Reds had to come back from a Fraizer Campbell goal at Selhurst Park, with goals from Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana sealing their progression into the next round of the FA Cup.
The win ended a terrible run of form for Brendan Rodger’s side at Palace’s ground, with them having lost 3-1 there earlier in the season and the infamous 3-3 draw last season which effectively saw them lose out on the Premier League title to Manchester City.
Now, Mignolet has praised the side’s spirit on their return to south London, saying it shows the Reds are now a very different proposition to the one that was easily defeated earlier in the season.
“Team spirit is amazing at the moment,” he said.
“Everybody is fighting for each other and doing their jobs individually. It’s always nice to get a victory as a team. The spirit is high and we have to build on that and keep doing the things we’re doing at the moment. There’s another game and we have to look forward to that one.”
Like his side, the Belgian keeper’ also continued his return to winning form, putting in a faultless display against Alan Pardew’s men after suffering earlier in the season.
Mignolet believes his side should be credited on how they dealt with Palace’s attacking threat, despite Martin Skrtel’s mistake for the home side’s opener, and their refusal to be bullied by a physical performance.
“You knew before the game that it was going to happen - long balls and high balls into the box. We had to defend it,” he added.
“That’s what we did - we got through and we’re very pleased that we’re still in the FA Cup. Everybody showed great character and spirit. We fought and won the battle, which you always have to do first in every football match.”
