The Brazilian midfielder made an introduction from the bench against Deportivo La Coruna yesterday in La Liga.
Arsenal were being heavily linked with Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva last month, but the former Cruzeiro man opted to sign for Real Madrid in January.
The 21-year-old made his debut for the reigning European champions yesterday, as he was introduced from the bench in the side’s routine 2-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna.
Silva replaced Asier Illarramendi on 71 minutes, getting his first taste of the Santiago Bernabeu and showing some neat touches on the ball.
The South American midfielder expressed his delight in the aftermath of the victory and stated that he looks forward to getting more action for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
“I’m very happy. Very pleased. I realised a dream,” Silva is quoted as saying by AS.
“It was magical. I’m going to remember it fondly. The first pass, being out on the pitch with the players.. It was great to hear the applause from the fans.”
Silva will now be in the reckoning to play a part in Madrid’s Champions League clash with Schalke in midweek but will face stiff competition for a starting berth in the capital city side’s midfield.
The likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco and Illarramendi are also in contention to start in Ancelotti’s side.
