Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Markovic's performance against Palace

Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 in the FA Cup this weekend but what did Reds fans make of Lazar Markovic's contribution.

Liverpool came from behind to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, with Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana netting for the hosts after Frazier Campbell had opened the scoring.

Given how the competition is going this year, it would have been no great surprise if the Eagles had defeated Liverpool, but as it was Brendan Rodgers’ side progressed to the quarter-finals, leaving Alan Pardew’s men to focus on the league.

One player who divided opinion on social media both during and after the match was Liverpool’s summer signing Lazar Markovic.

The 20-year-old Serbian winger has made 27 appearances since arriving at Anfield, and in recent times he has shown what a talented player he is. But against Palace the former Benfica player was not at his best, with former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher even taking him to task over Palace’s goal.

After the match, we took to Twitter to see what Liverpool fans thought of Markovic’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
