Arsenal continued their defence of the FA Cup in fine style this weekend, as they overcame Championship high fliers Middlesbrough 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium
Two goals from Olivier Giroud did the trick for Arsene Wenger’s men, but it was a player who did not get on the score-sheet (for once) who earned the succinct praise of Match of the Day host Gary Lineker.
The former footballer took to Twitter to write, “Alexis Sanchez is ridiculously good,” as he watched the Gunners play Boro, and having seen how well the Chilean has settled in North London, few would disagree.
Since his £35million transfer from Barcelona last summer, Alexis has scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 33 matches.
His work ethic has also shone through time and again, proving that Arsenal signed much more than a goal-scorer; the man is also a catalyst for those around him to up their own games.
The question now is: Can Alexis win a trophy in his first season in England?
At this rate, he just might.
