Crystal Palace fans were critical of Julian Speroni's performance after their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.
Crystal Palace crashed out of the FA Cup on Saturday, losing 2-1 to Liverpool at Selhurst Park - despite leading the game at half time.
The Eagles took the lead in the first half, with Fraizer Campbell sweeping the ball home after Dwight Gayle's header was saved by Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
However, Brendan Rodgers' men roared back in the second half, with goals from Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana handing Liverpool their ticket to the last eight of the competition.
It's a blow for Alan Pardew's side to be dumped out of the tournament having led the game, but fans have been pointing the finger of blame at goalkeeper Julian Speroni.
The Argentine, 35, has been with Palace for almost 11 years now, and has made 375 appearances for the club, becoming a cult hero in the process.
Yet against Liverpool, Speroni could have done better with both goals, and fans were quick to point that out on Twitter after the game.
Fans believe that Speroni is coming to the end of his career and may need to be replaced sooner rather than later - but it wasn't just a one-way discussion.
Other supporters moved to defend Speroni, suggesting that he made a host of good saves for Palace, only to see his performance marred by the two goals.
Here are some of the tweets from Palace fans on Speroni's performance.
I love Speroni, but he was so poor for that 2nd goal #cpfc— Robert Naish (@Naishy89) February 14, 2015
Speroni poor AGAIN. Time to focus on performance instead of sentimentality. #cpfc— Ryan Wallis (@RyWalCP) February 14, 2015
Speroni made some quality saves in the 1st half. Didnt have to do much in the 2nd half. Still get frustrated at his saves that fall to oppo— JF (@JF_1010) February 14, 2015
Speroni's time is up— Lee Taylor (@LeeStTaylor) February 14, 2015
Horrific keeping from speroni. New keeper please— Bobby D@zzler (@cpfcdazzler) February 14, 2015
Who ever praises speroni after today match needs their heads checked. Fault for both goals and not 1st time in the last few matches!— Sam Smith (@cpfcsam) February 14, 2015
To blame Speroni is extremely short sighted indeed, as he kept us in the game.— e-Crystal Palace (@e_crystalpalace) February 14, 2015
Anyone who has a bad word to say of speroni's performance in my opinion is crazy.— Sean Collard (@seancollard16) February 14, 2015
