The Inter manager has admitted that the German has not been at his best recently, but has backed him to improve.
Lukas Podolski’s future is up in the air, with the Germany international out on loan at Inter for the rest of the season.
It appears that Podolski has not overly impressed since switching to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza either, with Roberto Mancini admitting that the forward has suffered a dip in form of late.
However, the ex-Manchester City boss has backed Podolski to come good and help Inter achieve their objectives this season.
“At the start he played well, but then because of his physical condition he has dropped a bit,” Mancini told a press conference.
“It is usual for this to happen. I think by the end of the season, due to his experience and quality, he will have given us a big hand.”
The 29-year-old has started four Serie A games this season but is yet to score for the Nerazzurri.
With the player set to return to North London at the end of the season, it remains to be seen where he will play his football next season.
