Manchester United round-up: Player ‘delighted’ with loan extension and £6m winger speaks

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report in the Daily Star, Manchester United midfielder Ben Pearson has extended his loan spell at Championship side Barnsley until March 8.

The midfielder is very highly-rated at Old Trafford and, with a playing style similar to Paul Scholes, he could have a huge future at the club.

However, he is currently impressing in the third tier and now that will continue until early next month at the least.

Pearson is quoted as saying, “I’m delighted to have signed for another month.”

In other news, former United winger Wilfried Zaha has been speaking following his permanent £6million return to Crystal Palace.

The youngster was hardly given a chance at Old Trafford following his big-money move but in comments published by ESPN, Zaha explained how happy he is to be back at Selhurst Park.

“Not playing at all hit my confidence but now I am playing again,” he said. “I am back home. I just play football and go home with a smile on my face.”

United did not see the best of the young winger but his form since returning to the Eagles suggests he could still live up to his considerable potential.
