Dissidia Final Fantasy announced for arcades in Japan, looks amazing

Dissidia Final Fantasy trailer screen 1

We're hoping for some high resolution Cloud vs Sephiroth battles in Square Enix's new arcade title.

A new arcade game has been revealed by Square Enix during the Japan Amusement Expo in Chiba on Friday - Dissidia Final Fantasy.

The game looks great in the reveal trailer below, and uses three vs three battles instead of the series' traditional one on one match-ups.

Dissidia Final Fantasy will feature heroes and villains from the Final Fantasy series, just like the PSP games. Such characters include Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII), Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII), and Terra Branford (Final Fantasy VI). One big difference this time is that the visuals have been given a huge boost for the arcades, and they're looking gorgeous.

Square Enix are to host a presentation on 10th April where it is presumed further information about the game will be revealed.

Take a look at the teaser trailer below, and get those 'feels'.

There is no word on whether the game will come to western arcades, or even consoles, but we hope, and pray that it will.

Thanks, Gematsu (via 4Gamer.net and Games Talk).
