Everton fans react angrily on Twitter to Romelu Lukaku’s ‘top club’ jibe

The Belgium international has seemingly incited the Goodison Park faithful following his admission that he is interested in moving on.

Romelu Lukaku has threatened to ostracise himself at Everton following recent comments in The Sun that he wants to leave Merseyside to sign for a ‘top club’.

The former Chelsea striker has admitted that he is eager to play in the Champions League and that in the future he wants to leave Goodison Park and sign for a bigger club.

With the Belgian international not showing his best form this season for Roberto Martinez’s struggling team, the Everton fans have expressed their frustration with Lukaku’s comments on social media.

The Toffees shelled out a club-record £28 million, per Sky Sports, to bring the 21-year-old to Goodison Park from Chelsea in the summer, but he has not replicated the form that made him a star whilst on loan in 2013-14.

Seven Premier League goals this season is a modest return for the powerful forward, and Everton’s fans have reacted angrily on Twitter to Lukaku’s desires to move on. Here are the best tweets.
