Derby and Leeds fans react on Twitter to Stephen Warnock's disastrous debut

The former Leeds skipper was sent off on his Derby debut. Far from ideal!

First, Matt Smith was sent off on his Fulham debut after leaving Leeds United. Now, Stephen Warnock has joined in, being sent off - before half-time - during his first appearance for Derby County (against Reading).

The 33-year-old, who left Leeds for Derby this January, was making his first start for the Rams in the FA Cup and received his marching orders for two bookable offences in the first half.

Many felt the referee was harsh to send Warnock off but the majority of fans blamed the experienced left-back for doing the exact opposite of what he says on the tin - and not showing enough experience to avoid the tackles in question.

The Derby defender himself, meanwhile, took to Twitter to apologise to fans and team-mates...

But he wasn't the only one. Indeed, Derby fans slammed the 33-year-old on social media after the game, also poking fun at the fact that his rough tackling supposedly comes straight from the Leeds' footballing handbook.

Plenty of Leeds fans also shared a cheeky Twitter laugh at the fortunes of their former left-back, with Charlie Taylor doing a fine job as his successor at Elland Road.

Here's some of the best reaction from both sets of fans, then, as Warnock's Derby debut turned disastrous...
