Celtic fans were full of praise for midfielder Stefan Johansen after his performance against St. Johnstone.

Celtic stretched their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to six points after a 2-1 win over St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.

Leigh Griffiths gave the Bhoys the lead inside the first minute, before Stefan Johansen made it 2-0 with a fine finish, taking the ball on his chest before volleying the ball low into the net.

Michael O'Halloran gave St. Johnstone hope with a late goal, but Celtic managed to cling on for all three points in a hard-fought victory.

Ronny Deila's men had Craig Gordon to thank for a superb late save, but fans were full of praise for Norwegian international midfielder Johansen.

The 24-year-old's superb goal proved to be the winning strike, making it three goals in his last three games for Celtic as he hits a real purple patch.

Fans took to Twitter to praise Johansen's performance, with one fan even comparing him to Stiliyan Petrov - the Bulgarian who scored 65 goals in 312 games for Celtic before moving on to Aston Villa.

Others touted Johansen for the Player of the Year award after another impressive display, but were wary of the possibility of losing him if these performances continue.
