Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Tim Sherwood's appointment

Tim Sherwood Press Conference 12/02/2014

Aston Villa have appointed Tim Sherwood as their new manager - but fans aren't totally convinced.

After just a matter of days without a manager following the sacking of Paul Lambert, Aston Villa have appointed Tim Sherwood as their new boss.

Lambert left Villa stuck in the relegation zone with just 12 goals in 25 games, and after ten games without a win, he finally parted company with the club on Wednesday evening after a 2-0 defeat to Hull City.

Villa now need to turn things around quickly, with only 13 games left this season - and owner Randy Lerner has chosen Sherwood as the man to keep them afloat.

The former Tottenham boss left White Hart Lane back in May, despite winning 50% of his games in charge of Spurs in a short stint in the dugout.

Finally, nine months on from his Spurs exit, Sherwood is back in the Premier League, but has a huge task on his hands to keep Villa in the top flight.

Fans took to Twitter to react to Sherwood's arrival at Villa Park, and it's fair to say that his appointment has been met with a mixed reaction.

Some fans believe that Sherwood, 46, is too inexperienced to be charged with dragging Villa away from the drop zone, but others think that he will finally bring a more attack-minded brand of football to the club - a far cry from Lambert's dour tactics.

Here are some of the reactions from Villa fans to Sherwood's appointment...
