Crystal Palace may head into the FA Cup game against Liverpool as underdogs but Yannick Bolasie has made a promise to the club’s fans in the Croydon Advertiser.
That promise is that the Palace squad will go all out to give supporters a day out at Wembley in the competition this season.
“It would be nice to get to Wembley, it would be great for the fans as well,” he said.
“I think it’s something we have to take seriously.”
This weekend represents a chance for Palace to forget about the pressure of playing in the Premier League and improving the gap between themselves and the bottom three.
They have the home advantage and Bolasie is likely to be a key player if Palace are to overpower and get the better of Liverpool’s defence.
Palace have been in great form extending to before the point Alan Pardew was appointed as manager.
They have lost only one game, against Everton, since Boxing Day, which shows the momentum and confidence the side will have at the moment.
They can use that to their advantage to try and get a result, force their way into the next round of the competition and give fans plenty to sing about over the next few months.
