Rangers fans react on Twitter to Kyle Hutton's performance v Hibs

Rangers 3

Rangers midfielder Kyle Hutton split opinion as Rangers slipped to third.

Rangers slipped to a dismal defeat on Friday night as Hibernian overtook them to move to second in the Scottish Championship.

Already 17 points behind leaders Hearts going into the game, Rangers missed the opportunity to begin closing the gap with a 2-0 home defeat.

Despite still having two games in hand on the league leaders, automatic promotion looks highly unlikely now, and even a play-off spot is not guaranteed.

Rangers do have three games in hand on Hibs, but have now lost three consecutive games in all competitions and nobody at the club will be taking anything for granted. At the very least they will have to work hard to finish in second, and won't be able to ease off at all.

Hibs' victory was statistically a real smash and grab. They had just four shots at goal compared to Rangers' 21, yet scored with two of them.

A crowd of 29,769 watched at Ibrox, a huge jump on the 11,000 odd which watched the weekend's cup defeat to Raith Rovers.

Just one of the loanees from Newcastle United played, Haris Vuckic, with the remaining four all struggling for fitness and failing to make the bench.

It was the performance of midfielder Kyle Hutton however which split opinion the most among fans, with a number taking to Twitter to slate his poor defensive work for Scott Robertson's opener.

There were some fans however which were positive about Hutton's display:
