Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been named as the Premier League’s Player of the Month for January.
Kane has been in great form for Tottenham this season, with 23 goals in all competitions, five of which came last month.
His form has been so impressive that the club moved quickly to improve his contract and get him committed on a new deal, which runs until 2020.
He understandably looked content as he posed with the trophy, which rewarded his efforts in the opening weeks of 2015.
He’s continued his good form into February with a goal in the North London derby win last weekend and another in the 3-2 defeat away to Liverpool earlier this week.
He’s also been tipped for a call up to the England senior side by Roy Hodgson, as reported by the BBC, which he may consider is the ultimate reward for his form this season.
“Is he worth a place in the squad now? Of course he is,” said Hodgson.
His challenge now is to maintain his form and momentum over the rest of the season, with Tottenham facing a number of challenges with the League Cup final against Chelsea and the return of the Europa League next week.
