The former Manchester United and Liverpool star foresees a competitive game between the two Premier League rivals at The Hawthorns.
“Tony Pulis might think the Baggies win against Swansea midweek leaves them relatively safe in the Premier League and he is sure to play a strong side against West Ham who have made no secret of the fact that they are targeting the competition this season,” the 35-year-old ex-England international striker wrote on Betvictor.com.
“The Hammers have already come through two difficult away ties in the competition and I think there will be goals at the Hawthorns.”
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
As Owen points out, both West Brom and West Ham will be determined to win the tie on Saturday and progress to the sixth round of the FA Cup.
The Baggies and the Hammers both will be expected to field their strongest available line-ups at The Hawthorns, and that will make the game very competitive.
Many football followers will back West Ham to win the tie, but playing at home will give West Brom an edge.
If the Baggies can score early, then they could well go on and win the contest.
