It has not been a great week for QPR in regards to their injury list. While they have picked up a great result, beating Sunderland 2-0 yesterday, they also picked up another injury problem.
At the weekend QPR lost both Richard Dunne and Charlie Austin through injury and now it is confirmed that Leroy Fer, who scored one of the goal in QPR's triumph over Sunderland, suffered medial ligament damage in the game. BBC Sport are reporting that he is out for ten weeks with the problem and that is a real shame for the Dutch international as well as the relegation battlers.
His presence will certainly be missed and he has received messages from support from some of his team-mates on Twitter. Joey Barton and Alejandro Faurlin, a player who knows all about knee injuries, both sent him a message to wish him a speedy but full recovery from the problem.
Gutted for @LeroyFer10 he's been great since he came in. Great lad. Big loss for us. But again another opportunity for someone to step up.— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) February 11, 2015
Gutted for @LeroyFer10 massive lost for us!and our fight! But honestly thing when a knee is involved 10 weeks rehab still good news!!— Alejandro Faurlin (@alefaurlin) February 11, 2015
Fer has been one of the more consistent players in the QPR team this season since arriving from Norwich City in the summer. He has played 29 times this season, scoring four goals and QPR will miss him greatly in their battle for Premier League survival.
