Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho had a laugh at his own expense in training, mimicking his attempted rugby tackle on Tottenham Hotspur's Mousa Dembele.
The centre-back was booked in the 3-2 win over Spurs for a diving tackle on the Belgian, in which he led with his hands rather than his feet.
Days later, and with Liverpool basking in the glow of victory rather than mulling over a defeat, the Frenchman saw the funny side in training as he recreating the scenes with fellow defender Martin Skrtel as his target.
Sakho didn't fully connect with Dembele on the match, nor did Skrtel let him take him down in training, but the intent was enough for referee Phil Dowd to brandish the yellow card.
It wasn't dangerous intent but it was cynical, and also downright baffling that a professional footballer should attempt a challenge of the like on the field - perhaps simply showing just how lost in the moment the players find themselves.
