Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren nearly wiped out youngster Jerome Sinclair with a high challenge in training.
The Croatian launched himself boot first to intercept a high ball, to try to stop the teenager scoring in a miniature goal during a training exercise.
No damage was done, and while Lovren really should have gone head first, the centre-back's competitiveness is clearly shining through as he attempts to win back his spot.
Signed for £20 million from Southampton in the summer, Lovren has been a disappointment, and Liverpool's successful run has come with him out of the side, with Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel and Emre Can in a back-three.
There could yet be an opportunity on the horizon, with Lucas Leiva and Steven Gerrard out injured, Can is likely to be required in midfield again.
Lovren is no certainty to get back in the side, with Kolo Toure returning from the African Nations Cup, but he certainly seems eager, and did little damage when he came on against Tottenham for the final 23 minutes of the 3-2 win in midweek.
There was also more good news for Liverpool in training, when Mario Balotelli showed his scoring streak continues, as he prepares for a potential start in the FA Cup against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
