Liverpool morning round-up: Sturridge excited by Balotelli partnership

A round up of news stories this morning related to Liverpool.

Daniel Sturridge has told the Daily Mail that he’s got no doubt that he and Mario Balotelli can form a good partnership at the club.

The Italian striker came off of the bench against Tottenham to grab the winner earlier this week, as Sturridge returned to the starting line-up.

Sturridge says the forward works hard every single day to become a better player.

The Daily Mail has also reported that Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will be out of action for the next two weeks.

The experienced midfielder picked up a hamstring problem during his team’s 3-2 win against Spurs earlier this week.

The paper claims he will be back in time to face Manchester City at the start of next month.

Former Arsenal star Charlie Nicholas has told the Daily Express that he feels Liverpool are Arsenal’s greatest rivals for third place.

Nicholas doesn’t feel that Manchester United have the quality or consistency of performance to stay in the top four over the rest of the season as the pressure increases.
