Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has told the Daily Mail that Harry Kane has devised a clever way to compensate for his lack of pace.
Keown says that Kane will never be able to 'outrun' defenders, but feels that he has other weapons which make him a threat.
The Spurs academy graduate has been their main threat going forward this season, and Keown has praised his ability to maximise his key attributes.
"Kane is an interesting package," he said on Thursday. "He’s never going to outrun anyone, but he gets past people by thinking very quickly. He controls the ball with his left foot into the path of his right foot.
"He’s very economical with his movement. He has to be, because he’s not especially quick. But he moves the ball from one foot to the other, away from the opponent."
Kane has been hugely effective for Tottenham this season and is surely on course to scoop the club's Player of the Year award.
The powerful forward has 23 goals to his name already and that total looks set to increase considerably by May, with Spurs still competing in three competitions.
It is a staggering record for a player who is still only 21-years-old and is enjoying his first full season as a first-team regular.
Kane's future is the hot topic at White Hart Lane at the moment, with the fans' favourite being tipped to go on to represent England and become one of the most talented players in the country over the coming years.
