Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has told the BBC that Tottenham Hotspur are looking very strong this season.
Keown was analysing Tottenham's match with Liverpool, which they lost 3-2, on Match of the Day and felt that the defeat was something Spurs should not panic over.
Instead, the ex-Gunner said that they put in an excellent performance at Anfield - with Ryan Mason and Erik Lamela being singled out for praise - and feels that they have a strong chance of claiming a top-four spot.
"They were magnificent," Keown admitted. "It was a great game, nothing to be dispirited about. There were lots of good performances - Lamela and Mason in midfield. Tottenham are looking really good."
Keown's admiration of Spurs may stem from the fact that they were able to beat his former club so comfortably at the weekend.
Tottenham outclassed Arsenal in a 2-1 win last Saturday, a result that helped to highlight the quality that they have in their squad this season.
If Spurs had made a better start they would be comfortably inside the top four by now, but even as it is they will be confident of claiming a place in the Champions League qualification spots.
Mauricio Pochettino has got the side playing with style and purpose and Tottenham's future under the guidance of the Argentine looks more exciting than it has at any time in recent memory.
