Bent comments on possibility of being recalled by Aston Villa

Darren Bent

Aston Villa owned Darren Bent has admitted he doesn't know if he can be recalled from a loan spell at Derby County.

Aston Villa owned Darren Bent told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show for talkSPORT that he doesn’t know if he’ll be recalled from his loan spell at Derby County.

Bent has bagged three goals in the Championship for the Rams already, but played down the idea of a return to Aston Villa.

“I don’t know to be honest (when asked about the possibility of going back to Villa) – I don’t really know the details of the agreement,” said Bent.

Aston Villa’s struggles in terms of scoring goals this season have been obvious; they are the lowest scorers in the Premier League.

It’s a problem any new manager coming in needs to embrace quickly, as scoring more goals is the only way the team can start moving up the table in the and away from danger.

The new boss coming in could decide that he wants Bent back at the club, but that’s only possible if there’s an option in his loan agreement at Derby, which allows Villa to recall him.

There are a lot of things which need to happen before Bent walks out again at Villa Park, but for now he’ll be determined to keep his head down, keep his form going at Derby and answer the Villa call if it comes.
