The Gunners are renowned for their delicate, incisive play, often preferring aestheticism over results.
Although more trophies would be a welcome addition to the Emirates Stadium, on their day the North London club play the best football in England, and arguably some of the best in the world. Head coach Arsene Wenger rejuvenated how the game was approached in England when he was appointed in the 1990’s, and he has continued to build an incredible team defined by their technique and personal skills.
There are many players in the squad who could stake a claim at being most skilful, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain praised for their talent on the ball, but full-back Nacho Monreal has revealed who he believes should be handed the title of most skilful.
In a question and answer session with the official Champions League twitter account, Spanish international Monreal named his international teammate Santi Cazorla as the most technically gifted player in the Gunners ranks.
who has the best skills in the squad ? #askmonreal— Himanshu Pratap (@U_Want_Shum_M8) February 12, 2015
30-year-old Cazorla is currently enjoying the best period of his Arsenal career, with seven goals and 10 assists in 34 games this season. He has never truly enjoyed a bad period of form since moving to North London from Malaga in the summer of 2012, but he is arguably the Gunners most important player at this moment in time. A classically trained number 10, despite having little defensive efficiency Cazorla has made a success of himself in the high-energy modern game, and should Arsenal win any silverware this season, Cazorla will undoubtedly be at the centre of it.
