Robbie Savage predicts Southampton's final position - it isn't too flattering

St Marys Southampton

Unlike several other keen observers, the former Premier League midfielder doesn't even see the Saints making the top six.

Robbie Savage has gone against the Southampton bandwagon somewhat by predicting a seventh-placed finish for the Saints.

Ronald Koeman's Southampton side currently sit third in the Premier League table ahead of their clash with West Ham United, which could see them go three points clear of fourth-placed Arsenal with a win over the Hammers.

Savage, however, believes a top-four place is well out of their reach, with the Welshman tipping six sides to finish above the South Coast club...

Results have gone in Southampton's favour over the past few days, with Arsenal losing to Tottenham, before Spurs then lost themselves at Liverpool last night.

Those defeats mean Southampton can stay above Arsenal even if they lose by a goal to West Ham tonight.

Interestingly, Savage also took the time to predict Tottenham's final Premier League position, giving a similar take.

Essentially, then, the 40-year-old sees the old guard taking up the Champions League places, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all finishing above both Tottenham and Southampton in his eyes.

Southampton host West Ham tonight at 7.45pm, while Manchester United host Burnley, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs all having played last night.
