Newcastle fans were disappointed to hear that summer signing Siem de Jong is out of action for another eight weeks.
The 26-year-old joined the Magpies from Ajax in a deal believed to be worth around £6m, and fans were naturally excited with the arrival of a prolific midfield player.
Having hit 78 goals in 244 games for Ajax, de Jong had a reputation for contributing goals, and that's just what Newcastle needed after the departure of Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain.
Yet so far, the Dutch international's time in the North East has been a nightmare, having picked up a thigh injury back in September, ruling him out after just two games for the club.
Seemingly on the recovery trail, de Jong has now been sidelined for another eight weeks after suffering a collapsed lung for the second time in 18 months after his first one in August 2013.
Newcastle confirmed that de Jong will be out for around two months, and that he had surgery on his lung on Tuesday as manager John Carver faces up to even more time without de Jong.
Fans reacted on Twitter throughout the evening following the announcement, with many disappointed to hear that de Jong would be out of action.
Many still hold out hope that de Jong will be a success when he returns, which could even be next season as his rehabilitation could take some time.
Here are some of the reactions from Newcastle fans after de Jong's new injury...
The one thing #nufc fans were looking forward to this season was the return of Siem De Jong, and now that hope has been extinguished.— Andrew Musgrove (@ADMusgrove) February 10, 2015
To be fair I'd kind of forgotten about De Jong.....real shame though was really looking forward to seeing him when he signed #nufc— Lee Johnson (@Lee5_1Johnson) February 10, 2015

Gutted about De Jong. He's exactly what we need at the moment. When your lucks out #NUFC— Solano's Side-step. (@NUFCPORVIDA) February 10, 2015
Hard not to be frustrated by the De Jong news but this was always a possibility. Had the same issue at Ajax prior to signing for us. #NUFC— TheMackemSlayer (@TheMackemSlayer) February 10, 2015
It's not too devastation losing De Jong as we have that replacement center midfielder we bought in January...Ohh hang on #nufc— Adam West (@SurreyMag) February 10, 2015
