Leicester City remain five points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table following Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Arsenal, with Nigel Pearson’s side unable to find the equaliser after Andrej Kramaric’s strike.
Arsenal opened the scoring just before the half hour when Mesut Ozil whipped in a corner for Laurent Koscielny to head home, before the German playmaker saw a shot blocked on 41 minutes which Theo Walcott turned in to double their advantage.
Leicester rallied after the break, however, with winter signing Kramaric netting his first goal in English football on the hour with a low shot past David Ospina.
The Croatian striker almost earned his side a point late on with another teasing effort, but the Gunners goalkeeper denied him on this occasion to see the home team hold on for the win.
In 20th-place since late-November, Leicester look resigned to an immediate return to the Championship based on current form, but in Kramaric they do have a player who looks capable of helping them pick up a few victories over their remaining 13 games.
The 23-year-old international bagged an impressive 28 goals in 31 total appearances for Dinamo Zagreb this season before moving to the King Power Stadium last month, and fans will hope that record is a sign of things to come.
While it’s just one strike in five appearances for the club so far, the Foxes faithful have certainly been encouraged by his start judging from the reaction on Twitter after the match at the Emirates Stadium.
Top notch game at Arsenal, and we played so well! So glad Kramaric is up and running. #LCFC— Josh Walker (@JoshWalker100) February 11, 2015
#LCFC Kramaric showed tonight he can score goals to win us games but needs actual minutes rather than off bench run outs 3— Calum Westwood (@5_WESTWOOD) February 11, 2015
All about the two K's in the season run in for me. Kasper and Kramaric. Keep em fit and in form and we've still got a chance. #LCFC— Josh Phillips (@ChopperPhillips) February 10, 2015
We're so unlucky yet so frustrating at the same time. Pleased for Kramaric on his goal, hope he kicks on now #LCFC— Sam Smith (@samsmith05) February 10, 2015
Kramaric and Mahrez standout players today. Should have had about 2 each. #lcfc— Sunil Parmar (@Sunil_YG30) February 10, 2015

Kramaric looks like a proper player to me, yes he should have done better with that last chance but his movement is top notch #lcfc— Andy Cooper (@CoopsLCFC) February 10, 2015
