Tottenham Hotspur's Hugo Lloris may have damaged any chance of scooping the Player of the Season award with his display against Liverpool last night.
The Frenchman was at fault for Liverpool's first goal and it may be an error that costs him dear at the team's award ceremony at the end of the season.
Lloris failed to keep out Lazar Markovic's early strike for the Reds and it turned out to be an expensive mistake, with Liverpool running out 3-2 winners in the contest.
Lloris has been one of Tottenham's stand-out players this season, but this clanger against Liverpool, coupled with his errors against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, are likely to see him drop out of contention.
The Frenchman has single-handedly saved Spurs on occasions this term, but making mistakes in high profile matches looks set to cost him.
Harry Kane would have been the favourite to win the award anyway, after scoring 23 times to date, but he looks an even more obvious selection after Lloris' mishaps and the 28-year-old will be looking to ensure that he eradicates all errors next term, to give himself a better chance of lifting the club's trophy.
