The German was impressed by both sides during their Premier League clash last night.
Lazar Markovic opened the scoring for Liverpool, before who else but Harry Kane equalised. A Steven Gerrard penalty then regained the lead for the hosts, only for Tottenham to hit back once more.
But up stepped Mario Balotelli to score the unlikeliest of late winners and net his first ever Premier League goal for Liverpool in the process.
Hamann, however, saw enough from Tottenham to heap praise on them as well as the eventual winners.
Another fantastic result for the Reds. Top 4 a strong possibility now, Spurs have come long way under Poccettino and won't be far off either— Didi Hamann (@DietmarHamann) February 10, 2015
Liverpool sit just three points off third-placed Southampton ahead of Wednesday night's league games, with Spurs one point above them and therefore only two points off third (and fourth-placed Arsenal).
The likelihood, then, is that both sides will be well in the mix for a Champions League place come the business end of the season.
Considering the competition from Manchester United, Arsenal, Southampton and (perhaps) West Ham United, though, this is still a relatively big vote of confidence from Hamann.
