Confirmed: Crystal Palace v Newcastle - Cabella starts

Crystal Palace face Newcastle United in a midweek Premier League kick-off.

Alan Pardew takes centre stage as his Crystal Palace side host former club Newcastle United in the Premier League.

He goes up against former assistant John Carver in the dugout as Newcastle are yet to appoint a permanent replacement and are unlikely to do so until the summer.

Pardew has had a strong start at Palace, currently sitting two places behind Newcastle in 13th, but are five points behind. A win for either team can be pivotal in the season's and directions of both sides.

Palace do not have an especially good home record, winning three times at Selhurst Park in the league all season, but two of those victories have come under Pardew's management.

Newcastle themselves have won just three away games, but one of those came in their last game on the road, a 3-0 win at Hull City, John Carver's first win of his current tenure.

Goals on the road have been their big issue, netting 12 times in 12 away fixtures.
