Newcastle United striker Emmanuel Riviere may have only arrived at St. James' Park last summer, but there must be questions over his future at the club already.
The French striker has failed to make an impact at Newcastle and it appears that his chances of making the breakthrough are limited.
With Ayoze Perez becoming the side's main striker and Papiss Cisse seemingly first reserve, it is hard to see where Riviere fits in, and his failure to get on the pitch against Stoke City over the weekend was further evidence of how far down the pecking order he has fallen.
A powerful striker in the mould of Riviere would generally have been considered a good option against a physically imposing Stoke team, but he could not even make it off the substitutes' bench.

It encapsulated the story of Riviere's season so far. The 24-year-old has made just 18 appearances in all competitions, scoring only twice.
Those two goals came in the same game against Crystal Palace in the League Cup and it means that he is still searching for his first league goal.
A striker struggling in their first season in England is not too much of a rarity, but Riviere has failed to show any signs of adapting to Premier League football and it may be that his signing is already destined to fail.
With a new manager expected to be appointed in the summer, there is likely to be a number of changes made at St. James' Park and Riviere could be one of the first to depart.
