United morning round-up: Di Maria on what he doesn’t like about England; Preston fan's desire

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United’s club-record signing Angel Di Maria has been speaking about his early months at Old Trafford.

In comments published by the London Evening Standard, the Argentine international – who has struggled to replicate his best form in recent weeks – said, “The weather is the only thing (I don’t like)…it doesn’t help a lot. But I’m very content here.

“The people have a lot of affection for me, which is the most important thing. It’s what I value most, and I have that here.”

Di Maria signed from Real Madrid for £59.7million last summer, and while he started in fantastic form he has tailed off more recently, failing to impact games as he would have hoped.

That said, it was always going to take him time to settle at a new club and in a new country; and United are likely to see the best of the player when he has a full campaign under his belt.

In other news, the Lancashire Evening Post has published a story about a Preston North End fan desperate to see his side take on United in the FA Cup fifth round later this month.

Michael Jackson, who lives in South Africa, has admitted he would sell a kidney if it meant him getting a ticket for the match at Deepdale on February 16.

Hopefully it will not come to that…
