Former Newcastle United player Micky Quinn told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show for talkSPORT that he feels Harry Kane produced the performance of the season for a Premier League striker.
Quinn suggested that the Tottenham Hotspur star produced the complete performance in his side’s 5-3 win against Chelsea.
“I think he produced the best performance from a Premier League striker this season in that win against Chelsea,” said Quinn.
Kane bagged a brace in that win against two top quality defenders in Gary Cahill and John Terry, who formed part of a solid Chelsea defence last season.
Kane backed that performance up and is on a great run of form after scoring two in each of the games against West Brom and Arsenal.
He’ll also be under pressure this evening against Liverpool, where he’ll be going up another great English striker in the form of Daniel Sturridge.
Kane is performing against the big teams and it will be interesting to see how Liverpool deal with him and how he plans on dealing with the Reds defence.
It’s a big test for the Tottenham man and he could take a number of approaches to the match as he looks to maintain his form.
