Bethesda, the games studio responsible for Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls and The Evil Within, have announced that they will be hosting their very first E3 conference. This has, of course, ignited the internet with rumours as details on the conference are currently scarce.
Hosting an E3 conference traditionally means that a studio has something big to announce, so what could Bethesda be up to?
There are a lot of people out there, including us, who will be hoping for an announcement for the Fallout franchise. Fans have been waiting a long time for Fallout 4 and have been subjected to false rumour after false rumour. The rumours have become so intense that fans have been taking to the Bethesda Twitter and Facebook page to badger them into making an announcement, leading to Pete Hines, Vice President of Bethesda, making an announcement that fans "should ignore everything unless it comes from an official source/channel". Hines also made a further announcement to say "It will be a long time before they're ready to talk about their next game."
Well, that was a long time ago so let's keep our fingers crossed and pray that we finally get what we've been waiting for at this year's E3 Conference.
That said it is possible that they could be announcing another title so what else could it be? There's the possibility of a new Elder Scrolls title although it seems unlikely with Elder Scrolls Online soon getting a console release. Dishonored wasn't a huge success but it's possible that the game could receive a sequel. Another game that could be announced would be a new Doom or Wolfenstein but again these would seem unlikely. The least likely scenario would be a sequel to their latest hit game The Evil Within as it was only released recently and Bethesda tend to leave a long gap between games in their franchises.
It is of course entirely possible that they could be announcing something entirely new, in which case we can't really speculate on what the announcement might be. Let's just say that this is extremely exciting news that is bound to get gamers talking until more details are released.
Bethesda's E3 Conference will be held in Los Angeles on 14th June 2015
