Former Manchester United academy star Pogba has been linked with a move away from Serie A this year, with a host of Europe’s top clubs reportedly interested in the midfielder. As claimed by ESPN, the 21-year-old has been tracked by Chelsea and Manchester City, whilst his former employers are also keen to bring him back to Old Trafford.
With the decline in quality in Serie A, it is expected that Pogba will depart in the coming months, and ESPN have also reported on claims made by the youngster’s agent, Mino Raiola, who has suggested that transfer will occur this summer. There is still no indication as to where Pogba will head to, but a recent report in HLN has added further strength to Raiola’s insistence in the transfer.
Belgian international midfielder Axel Witsel has opened talks with Juve over a summer transfer, with the report claiming that he will be brought in as a replacement for the departed Pogba. Witsel himself has long been linked with a transfer to the Premier League, as per the Mirror, and has stated his ambition to move to England in the future - being quoted in the same article - but it appears as if his move to Italy will be the catalyst that sees Pogba secure the transfer to England that has been so long-awaited.
