The London Evening Standard has reported that Real Madrid are watching Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The paper claims the Spanish giants have scouted him three times creating the idea of something similar to the situations surrounding Gareth Bale and Luka Modric could be about to develop.
We’ve looked at three key questions as well as initial reaction from Tottenham fans.
Is there any immediate danger of Tottenham losing Kane?
No, he’s just signed a new long term deal and admitted in the Daily Express that he’s Tottenham through and through.
Why has this rumour developed?
If the paper’s report is accurate then Real Madrid are watching him and seem to be pinning any hopes of signing him in the future of Daniel Levy’s past history on terms of doing business for the club’s best players.
It may also have started because Kane is similar to Bale and Modric in the respect that he’s a Spurs player playing well, who could get a move to a big side in the future. It’s almost a carbon copy, but there’s no indication from him, the club or the manager over any sort of doubt about his current status and position.
Is there any danger rumours could affect his performances?
There’s always that danger but it’s highly unlikely. He seems like a level headed player working under a very straight talking and sensible manager who should help him keep his feet on the ground and working hard for the team.
Here’s what Tottenham fans on Twitter have made of the news.
