Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy piled praise onto the club’s current striker for the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on talkSPORT.
Kane was in superb form for Spurs over the weekend as Tottenham secured a 2-1 win in the North London derby against Arsenal and Murphy couldn’t help but admire the way Kane played.
“He scores all sorts, he’s got a good strike on him, his left foot’s not bad, he’s there for tap-ins and free kicks – aerially he’s looking strong,” said Murphy.
Kane has taken his goalscoring tally to over the 20 goal mark and he’ll be looking to add to it even further against Liverpool tomorrow night.
He’s quickly becoming the most important player at Tottenham and his comment about Kane’s aerial ability is interesting because it’s another string to his bow.
It also enhances the number of ways Kane can stay effective in big games and Murphy’s list of qualities in relation to the striker suggests he can combat a variety of tactics from the opposition.
The danger for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is over playing him and developing the very serious risk of fatigue.
At some point, he’s going to have to use the club’s other attacking options and give Kane a rest whether that comes in the Premier League or Europa League.
There’s no reason he can’t finish this season with at least 30 goals in a Tottenham shirt.
