Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane may have scored the goals that put Arsenal to the sword in the North London derby this weekend, but a number of stars played a vital role in the victory.
Nabil Bentaleb had missed Tottenham’s previous three Premier League games, along with vital FA Cup and Capital One Cup encounters, but he slipped back into the starting line-up this weekend as if he had never been away.
Following his return from Africa Cup of Nations duty with Algeria, the 20-year-old was simply brilliant against the Gunners, helping to boss the midfield and ensure Mauricio Pochettino’s side ultimately secured a famous victory.
It is easy to forget how young Bentaleb is. In fact it is easy to forget how young a number of Tottenham’s current stars are, given how well they have been playing.
The future seems very bright for Tottenham and their supporters…and the present looks pretty good as well.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Tottenham fans thought of Bentaleb’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
It was a brilliant ball by bentaleb for the second goal today. We missed him so much when he went to AFCON— Andrew (@Kaneology) February 7, 2015

Bentaleb was superb yesterday - Mason was good but Bentaleb.. What a player and we can thank Sherwood for giving him a chance— Mark Mitchell (@markmtgo) February 8, 2015
Bentaleb is the heartbeat of the side. Keeps it, lovely feet, passes it on, tackles, runs all day. Could get better with goals too. Superb.— Simon (@lev_simon) February 8, 2015
Fantastic that Mason and Bentaleb don't seem to be fazed in the slightest by the big occasions.— Will Pairpoint (@WillPairpoint) February 7, 2015
