Sunderland fans react on Twitter to Graham's performance against Swansea

Sunderland drew 1-1 with Swansea City on Saturday but what did the fans make of Danny Graham's contribution?

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet sprang a surprise on Saturday when he gave striker Danny Graham his first start for the Black Cats since May 2013.

The 29-year-old has made just 19 appearances for Sunderland in total and is yet to score a goal for the club despite his previous returns for the likes of Swansea and Watford.

But against his former club he rolled back the years and put in an impressive shift alongside Sunderland’s recent signing Jermain Defoe.

It was the former England international who netted for the visitors, opening the scoring shortly before the interval only to see Ki Sung-yueng equalise for Swansea with 66 minutes on the clock.

But despite losing the lead the result was a positive one for Sunderland and it will be interesting to see if Graham keeps his place for the upcoming match against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.

As you can see from the statistics above, Graham’s passing accuracy was just 67 per cent but he was only disposed on two occasions and his presence allowed Defoe to do what he does best.
