Southampton went marching on yesterday as they continue to look likely to finish in the Premier League top four this season. Under Ronald Koeman they have performed minor miracles, especially after losing their star players in the summer.
But shrewd recruitment and a slight tinkering to their playing style has seen Southampton continue their momentum and they are now just behind Manchester City, third in the Premier League.
It was a tough game however, a 1-0 win over relegation threatened QPR. A last minute goal from Sadio Mane did the trick for Southampton in a game marred by serious injuries to Matt Targett for Southampton, who was knocked unconscious, and QPR stars Richard Dunne and Charlie Austin.
After the win plenty of Saints players took to Twitter to celebrate the triumph. The likes of Fraser Forster, Maya Yoshida and Nathaniel Clyne all did so - as did crocked defender Toby Alderweireld, while James Ward-Prowse wished Targett a speedy recovery.
As for the head coach? Koeman is also on Twitter and he posted this Tweet celebrating the win and Sammy Lee, who is on the coaching staff, turning 56-years-young yesterday.
